"A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person's strength." Proverbs 17:22 NLT
A broken spirit saps our strength - so much truth to this statement. When we are broken in spirit how can we stand? How can we do and be what we are called to? A broken spirit will have us faltering, stumbling around looking for direction and meaning.
A broken spirit causes confusion and doubt. But what is the source? What is the place where this brokenness began? How do you escape it?
"Search for the Lord and His strength. Continually seek Him." 1 Chronicles 16:11 NLT
Start with searching out the Lord. He's there, nearer than you imagine. Waiting, waiting, ever waiting for you to call upon Him. Seek His strength in the moments, the ugly, the hard, the faltering, He's there in the midst of them. Turn towards Him like a small child turns toward their daddy and finds comfort in his arms.
The verse above starts with "a cheerful heart...". Hard sometimes, but not impossible. Give thanks to God in the small things and see what God does to begin to change your brokenness around.
YOU'VE GOT THIS! Invite God into your moment.
